About Us

Dr. Kerry Garrity has been practicing in the Louisville area since graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. To fulfill her dream of practicing quality medicine in a warm and friendly environment, Dr. Garrity and her husband opened their own small animal hospital in October of 2007.
Dr. Garrity is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners.
The Downtown Animal Hospital offers state of the art medical facilities (including digital radiographs and full in house laboratory) and treatments. As a dedicated member of the veterinary community, Dr. Garrity and The Downtown Animal Hospital enjoy working with various rescue organizations, such as Alley Cat Advocates, The Woodstock Animal Foundation, the Animal Protection Agency, Saving Sunny and Shamrock Foundation. Her hobbies include volunteer work, traveling and spending time with family.
Dr. Garrity and staff, with a combined 19 years of veterinary experience, would love to offer your pet the same love and care they share with their own pets!

Kiley Vinson graduated from University Of South Carolina with a B.S. in Marine Science in 2004.

Since graduating, Kiley has worked for rescue organizations and another pet hospital for a little over two years before coming to work for The Downtown Animal Hospital. Kiley and Dr. Garrity have worked together for six years total. Currently, Kiley has eight animals, six cats ( Flick, Alice, Hilary, Dexter, Midge, and Guido) and two dogs (Jaycee and Daisy) and all of them are Kiley's perfect little angels (except for when they're not). All of them were rescues, usually fosters or special needs cats that she couldn't bare to adopt out. Kiley has always been crazy about animals and the number of them she has just proves it. When not taking care of all her animals, Kiley likes to read and travel.

Ashlee recently joined our team as receptionist. She has three rescue dogs of her own (Gibbs featured in the picture). Ashlee loves spending time with her dogs and spending time with family and friends. Other hobbies include exploring local areas with her dogs, running and horseback riding.

Emily also has a house full of animals with six cats and two dogs. All of them rescue, most of them being special needs she took to foster and then fell in love with. Before working at The Downtown Animal Hospital, Emily worked with Animal Protection Association, as well as other rescue organizations, and she still fosters for them when needed.
When not working or volunteering, Emily likes to hike trails with her dogs and spend time with her husband.

Kelsey joined our team this year as a part time vet. tech. assistant. She is the co-founder of Saving Sunny Inc. (Sunny is featured in the picture here), an animal rescue and community education organization. Kelsey graduated from the University Of Louisville in 2011. When she isn't working here or with her rescue, she likes to hike with her dogs, Sunny and Nala (Dingo), as well as traveling and spending time with family and friends.
